Vandals break into storage unit of NH nonprofit dedicated to reuniting lost pets
Vandals break into storage unit of NH nonprofit dedicated to reuniting lost pets

MANCHESTER — Granite State Dog Recovery, a nonprofit "dedicated to reuniting lost dogs with their families in the State of New Hampshire" has been the target of vandals.

The group posted on their Facebook page Wednesday, "We are sad (and angry and defeated) to report that GSDR's storage space, where we keep ALL of our supplies, was broken into in the last 24 to 48 hours."

Susan Pinché, Vice-President of GSDR, says the loss is massive, around $15,000. The vandals stole a large laser printer, 20-30 trail cameras, tools, batteries and a drop net mechanism for trapping animals valued at $10,000.
GSDR doesn't seem to be specifically targeted, as Pinché says other units were also broken into at the storage facility. She says the management company called them to notify them of the burglary and told GSDR the locks would not be able to be fixed for 24-48 hours. Pinché says they decided to move to a new storage facility that night, which took about four to five hours with eight people moving dozens of truck loads.

Pinché said she filed a report with the Manchester Police Department.

GSDR is asking for donations and anyone who may have seen anything or knows anything to come forward.
